• Promotion of sustainable resource management policies at the local, regional and national level.
• Development of criteria and indicators for monitoring and evaluation of coastal reef resource use.
• Support of the development of voluntary certification system for live corals and other reef related resources

The science program's strategy is three-pronged:

• Promotion of scientific research by others. This includes providing training where appropriate.
• Dissemination of scientific research findings, including analysis and adaptation of monitoring data.
• Undertaking original research. TERANGI is currently planning to establish two field stations. These sites will be the base for research by TERANGI personnel. TERANGI will also facilitate research at these sites by others, where appropriate.

Maximizing access to information for all stakeholders. To date the program has established three major information resources, which are:

• A Coral Reef Education Database
• Indonesian Coral Reef Mailing List
• An Open-access Library

The Coral Reef Resource Management program focuses on the following:

• Scientific marine resource mapping, analysis and meshing of results.
• Zoning schemes and community-based management approaches.
• Coral reef monitoring activities.
• Support for sustainable and integrated dive tourism concepts.

This program works in close cooperation with both the Education and Training and Coral Reef Science programs

The Education and Training Program is focusing on developing suitable training materials for different groups. The range of materials in development includes scientific and ecological course texts (for schools and universities), modules on resource management (for government and non-government officers involved in coral reef conservation) and an education database.
